Ülkenciler’s death was announced by the Cinema Workers’ Union from its social media account. “We have lost art director Mustafa Ziya Ülkenciler. Our condolences.” he announced it.
Ülkenciler, who was born in Antalya in 1947, has lived in Istanbul since 1967, where he came to receive higher education.
Ülkenciler started with professional promotional photography in 1976. He founded the Bilsak photography workshop in 1983 and taught photography classes in the same workshop. Ülkenciler, who opened his first painting exhibition at the Taksim Art Gallery in 1984, entered the cinema with the film “Dilan” in 1986.
Mustafa Ziya Ülkenciler, who worked on the set of Atıf Yılmaz’s films “How to Get Rid of Asia” and “My Dreams, My Love and You”, continued his work at Odak Film. On the other hand, he prepared content for the art pages of numerous newspapers and magazines.
He was the art director of the 1996 films Eşkıya directed by Yavuz Turgul and 1998 Ağır Roman directed by Mustafa Altıoklar.
Ülkenciler also participated in many photography exhibitions during his artistic life. He started his artistic direction with “Dublör” by Sinan Çetin.
