His lawyer Nicholas Rosenberg made a statement to the Los Angeles Times. 22-year-old American rapper MoneySign Suede is said to have been stabbed to death in the shower of a California prison on Tuesday night.
The famous rapper, whose real name is Jaime Brugada Valdez, received more than 7 million views on YouTube with his song “Back to the Bag”.
Suede, who was incarcerated at Soledad State Prison, was found critically injured in the shower during a search, when it turned out she was not in her cell during the overnight count.
The rapper, who appeared to have been stabbed in the neck, died a short time later.
An investigation has been launched at the prison to shed light on Suede’s death.
MoneySign Suede was sentenced to 2 years and 8 months in prison last December for two separate crimes.
There are more than 4,000 prisoners in the prison where Suede is held.
