Eric Braeden, the actor of the TV series “The Young and the Restless”, which started in the USA in the 70s and became a phenomenon in Turkey in the 90s, has announced that he has cancer.
Braeden, who has been on the show since 1980 and gave life to Victor Newman’s character, spoke about his illness and treatment process on his social media profile.
The 82-year-old German-American actress, who posted a video on Instagram, said she has prostate problems and went to a urologist to discuss how to treat it.
Stating that the problem worsened after the proposed treatment, the actor announced that he was diagnosed with cancer at the second meeting with the doctor. According to the NTV report, Braeden said: “I started treatment after doctors found ‘high-grade cancer cells’.”
Explaining that he plans to continue acting during the six-week treatment period, the actor said: “I’ll be back in shape soon.” Explaining why he felt the need to speak, Braeden said: “I hate to get so personal, but I think it might be good for some older men who may or may not be listening to this.” He said.
